Our Mission

Create for young people an exciting, experiential and holistic education model, that is truly immersed in and connected to industry and the community

Our Vision

The SEDA education model impacts and influences current education practice to transform how education is experienced by young people

SEDA is an education and learning organisation.  We began when three educators and an athlete came together to create an exciting, experiential and holistic education experience for young people, that is truly immersed in and connected to industry and the community.

At SEDA, we believe a more personalised and hands on approach to learning better meets the needs of many young people when compared to more traditional forms of teaching and assessment.  It drove us to create a learning model that is built around an area of interest and embedded in industry, is responsive to student needs, and which creates an environment that reflects the way people learn at work – through experiences, strong relationships and support, trust, collaboration and sharing knowledge.

Through its Education Model, SEDA wants to impact and influence current education practice to transform how education is experienced by young people.

The first SEDA program was delivered to 17 students in 2007, connected to the cricket industry and Cricket Victoria.  SEDA now has over 50 industry partnerships, ranging from national and state sporting associations and professional sporting clubs across Australia, as well as the building industry.

There are now over 1,500 students each year across Australia completing their education within a SEDA program environment.  The SEDA Model is delivered by SEDA Colleges throughout Australia, and students can also complete post school qualifications offered by SEDA in partnership with some of our leading industry partners.
